HTC introduces the Snap

April 2nd, 2009 Posted in Devices, News

HTC has unveiled the successor to the Excalibur smartphone, which they are calling the Snap, or S522. This full QWERTY device has a trackball where you would usually find the directional pad on most HTC phones and a new feature button called the “inner circle”. This green circle button will instantly bring up your emails from your chosen most important contacts.

Launched at CTIA 2009 the device features a non-touchscreen QVGA (320×240) display and dedicated buttons for email and messaging. Release is expected in the summer under both European and North American GSM frequencies. The Snap looks like a nice slim all around device being less than half an inch thick and featuring 3G, Bluetooth, GPS, Wifi, MicroSDHC and a 2MP camera. It is powered by a Qualcomm 528mhz processor with 256mb ROM and 128mb RAM.
