Skyfire now available to the public

September 25th, 2008 Posted in News, Software, Videos

No more waiting for that private beta download of Skyfire because it is now available publicly, although, still in beta form. Skyfire is another desktop-like browser for your mobile device, but this one promises full displayed pages with java, ajax, and even Flash (something iPhone’s Safari browser can’t do). It works by rendering the webpages on the Skyfire servers and then sending you that more mobile friendly data for your device to display. Looks like the browser wars have moved to mobile devices with Opera Mobile advancing quickly and Firefox Mobile slated for 2010.
