Telus updates S720 to Windows Mobile 6.1

Telus Mobility (a Canadian carrier) has decided to bring Windows Mobile 6.1 to their HTC S720.

Aside from improving overall functionality this will open up EV-DO Rev A support, upgrade to Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional and add new shortcuts for Telus mobile email, Telus navigator and Pocket Express applications.

    just did the upgrade (took a few tries, which scared me..didn’t work properly when trying to upgrade thru vista)
    The telus navigator isn’t part of it..there’s just a link for a crappy demo, which directs you to their site where you could supposedly download it.. the site just sais telus navigator comming soon (or something like that)..so no naviagator as of yet
    ie lets you zoom in/out which comes in handy.
    i wasn’t able to import my contacts..creating new contacts no longer asks you if it’s an outlook contact etc.
    switches to main menu when idle for a 5-10 seconds (still haven’t figured out if there’s a setting or if it’s a bug)
    had only few hours to look at it, browser only crashed once so far..too early to tell weather this upgrade was worth it.
    ..gona reinstall tcpmp and codecs next
